Periodontal disease can affect one tooth or many teeth. It begins when the bacteria in plaque (the sticky, color-less film that constantly forms on your teeth) releases toxins causing gum inflammation. With time, plaque hardens to form tartar and begins to grow below the gum line detaching the gums from tooth.
Using a laser eliminates the affect of dental drills that can cause pain. Lasers use infrared waves from the "good" side of the electromagnetic spectrum. The infrared waves from the laser pose no health risk; it is so safe that it can even be used with expectant mothers.

Your benefits are dictated by the choices your employer made within the cost of the coverage. We will do everything possible to maximize your insurance utilization; however, please do not let the lack of benefits dictate your desired or necessary treatment.
